TypeIt4Me overview
TypeIt4Me is a text expander that replaces your personal shorthand abbreviations with the longer snippets of content they represent, as you type. It works in almost all applications, not just one.
Any time you enter text in your Mac by typing it at the keyboard, TypeIt4Me can help you do it faster and more accurately. First you define a number of abbreviations and the full texts or picture(s) that they represent, then you watch the Mac expand them on the fly as you continue typing.
The purchase price is a one-time fee, not a recurring subscription.

- Fixed more bugs that could cause CSV import problems and also added support for an additional third column, for those who wish to import label descriptions along with abbreviations and snippet content.
- Fixed a bug affecting German keyboards that would prevent expansion of abbreviations containing these characters: ^ ° ` ´ §
- The “All punctuation resets abbreviation” option in Expansion settings was not working correctly; now it does.
- Fixed a bug that would cause problems attempting to save changes to snippets containing emoji.
- After you type something in the search filter above the snippet list, it’s now correctly cleared when you switch to another set.
- Fixed a bug that broke Pause / Resume in the TypeIt4Me menu.
- After selecting a file in Finder and pressing the Enter key to rename it, expansion now works as expected.
- Fixed a bug that would leave the first letter of an abbreviation behind after expanding a snippet in the Chrome URL bar.
- Usage metadata and statistics now update correctly for rich formatted snippets that contain dates and / or special TABs
- Fixed: the Add a Snippet window now correctly displays a warning again when you attempt to define an abbreviation that already exists and it once again gives the option to create a duplicate or overwrite the existing snippet.
- Fixed a bug in the text formatting popover menu that could cause the SF symbols on text alignment and hyperlink buttons to display as question marks.
- Rich snippets with abbreviations that involve holding the shift key or that begin with 2 numbers or more no longer expand in Unwanted Title Case.
- The app now prevents attempts to combine special function characters (e.g. ⌫⇥⇤⏎␊↓↑←→⎢) in a snippet with fill-in field options and / or pulldown menu prompts, as mixing these is not currently supported.
- The “Add a Snippet” window now does a better job of preserving rich formatting attributes when you select text and invoke it.
- Improved support for formatting and saving non-latin alphabet characters.
- Attempting to expand a snippet that contains an empty autocue placeholder no longer results in a crash.
- Fixed a bug that could cause a square symbol to be appended to the end of expanded snippets when using the esc key as a trigger.
- Numerous stability and performance improvements.

TypeIt4Me is the original text expander, way before autotype and all the other imitations. I've been using it since the early 90's. The developer is very responsive, the price very reasonable and the app itself superb.

Used this app for years now and am generally quite satisfied with it. Sometimes it seems your prefs are lost somewhere and you have to reactivate your collection from database, by just clicking on it, no problem if you know that you have to do that. But customer service told me quickly how to deal with that. A recent issue is that the program is not starting any more when I switch on my computer, it's presence in my menu list is only accidentally. So, when busy and trying to use your favorite abbreviation, nothing happens. You have to manually start the program and then it works. Cumbersome. Has been like that for a couple of months now and the recent update doesn't change that. It only happens to Typeit4Me, none of the many other start up apps are affected by this.

Hello, I am a hooman and I am not a fake review, my dog can testify.
I just bought aText...seriously, it's the price of 2 coffees here in Australia. It has saved me countless hours of monotonous text entry. It does the same tihing as Typinator, Texpander, TextExpander and Rocket Typist. I have Rocket Typist included with my Setapp subscription and I could not cope with how unreliable it is.
I have noticed a few bugs here and there with aText, so wish the updates would be more frequent, but otherwise a solid text replacement that is very lightweight and won't dent your wallet.

This is the BEST productive software EVER! I've use it every day and it saves me so much time! Best of all, Riccardo and his father give terrific customer support if you have any questions! No one gives better support! You'll LOVE it!
